Acts 1:8 Ministries, Inc.
An inter-denominational, ecumenical Christian coalition of churches and ministries.
We are an association of autonomous churches who voluntarily seek to coalesce around particular ministry initiatives, programs, and outreach opportunities for the sake of the Gospel as a witness to Christian unity among distinct members of the Body of Christ.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Our MissionWe believe and are committed to taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people in our geographic area as we minister to the whole person - soul, body, mind, and spirit. We seek to direct this commitment through ministries of evangelization and discipleship; meeting physical, psychological, and spiritual human needs; and basic mentoring and empowerment through education, instruction in life skills, and personal development.
Our VisionThe partner ministries of Acts 1:8 Ministries, Inc., sharing a strong sense of community, a passion for its people, and a deep commitment to fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ envision our partnership as a collaborative and creative platform for transformational community-based ministry to our geographic area in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our Coalitional Ministry ModelActs 1:8 Ministries, Inc. is an inter-denominational, ecumenical 501(c)3 nonprofit organization composed of regional ministries and educational opportunities, targeted outreach, community development, mission partnerships, family-friendly community events, evangelization, and other forms of intentional Christian ministry.
The coalitional model is voluntary and fluid. While our partner ministries are members of Acts 1:8 Ministries, Inc., each entity may or may not participate in any given activity, at any given time, depending on interest or availability. No member organization must give up their own priorities or distinctiveness in our shared work. It it our intention to witness to the unity that is possible for the Body of Christ when we prioritize the common ground of our faith and salvation (in fact, prioritize Christ, himself), all while maintaining our unique, historic denominational and congregational expressions. It is our conviction that this can enhance our faith and models a true witness to the world that we are the people of God, redeemed by His grace and that His Gospel is true, demonstrated by our unity in, and because of, our diversity. For the glory of God, we simply seek to do together what each of us could not do alone. |
